GUAVARIN ® complex and Chocolate
Hangover symptoms, liver disorders
GUAVARIN ® complex extract has a high content vitamin C and P (Flavonoids). These Vitamin C and P reduces the inflammation. It has significant biological activity like inhibiting coenzyme A reductase, aldose reductase inhibitor to protect the liver, analgesic, anti-edema.
1-2 chocolates half hour before drinking alcoholic beverages. 1-2 chocolates daily to protect liver
PROTEQT contains Guavarin® complex
Gauvarin® complex:
Gauvarin® complex extract has a high content vitamin C and P (Flavonoids). These Vitamin C and P reduces the inflammation.
Astilbin (3-0-alpha-1-rhamnosyl-(2R,3R)-dihydroquercetin), is the one of major constituent of Gauvarin® complex. It has significant biological activity like inhibiting coenzyme A reductase, aldose reductase inhibitor to protect the liver, analgesic, anti-edema.
Gauvarin® complex also contains Polyphenols, Catechins, and glycosides like Guavacoumaric acid, Guaijavarin, Guajiverine, Guajivolic acid, Guajavolide, Guavenoic acid. The presence of Guaijaverin present in the Gauvarin®compound is attributed for the action of anti-microbial activities, liver protection and its eliminates bad odor of alcohol.
The products from the breakdown of ethanol via liver enzymes are the contributing factors for hangover. Ethanol is converted to acetaldehyde by the enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase, and then from acetaldehyde to acetic acid by the enzyme acetaldehyde dehydrogenase. Acetaldehyde (ethanol) is mildly toxic, contributing to hangover. These two reactions also require the conversion of NAD+ to NADH. This diverts pyruvate from other pathways such as gluconeogenesis, thereby impairing the ability of the liver to supply glucose to tissues, especially the brain. Because glucose is the primary energy source of the brain, this lack of glucose contributes to hangover symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, mood disturbances, and decreased attention and concentration.
